We’re very proud to bring you our Voice Actor Week here on TGL, but we’ve decided to make navigation through the actors that little bit easier…

Below you’ll find a list of each of the VAs, some notable mentions of their work (in gaming) as well as a link to their interview. We’ve hoped you’ve enjoyed the interviews so far and we promise you, there’s a lot more to come. Some make their debut here on TGL as an Irish exclusive, while some are first timers on the internet…full stop! Anyways, enough of our ranting. Happy reading…

Name: Craig Fairbrass

Notable characters: Gaz, Ghost

Notable games: Far Cry, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Modern Warfare 2

Info: Thanks to his work in Call of Duty 4 and Modern Warfare 2, Craig has become a household name. Playing the mysterious “Ghost” character, fans of the franchise can expect him to return this fall when Modern Warfare 3 launches.

Name: Chris Edgerly

Info: Chris is someone that you have have come across but never even realised it. With titles like Assassin’s Creed II, Cars 2: The Videogame, Dragon Age: Origins, The Saboteur and more under hils belt; his range of voice and talent is clearly in abundance.

Name: Karen Dyer

Notable characters: Sheva Alomar

Notable games: Resident Evil 5

Info: Karen gained a lot of respect thanks to her work in Resident Evil 5. Not restricted to just gaming, Karen’s talents vary wildly to say the least! An accomplished actress, Karen also boasts to be a model, writer, dancer, producer, and fire-breather to name a few! Phew…we’re getting tired just thinking about it all.

Name: Adam Harrington

Notable characters: Detective Roy Earle

Notable games: L.A. Noire

Info: Adam made an explosive debut into the gaming circle with Team Bondai’s L.A. Noire. Playing the ever shady and crooked cop Roy Earle, Adam had the chance to take part in the application of technology that, some think, will change the face of computer games forever.

Name: Paul Eiding

Notable characters: Colonel Roy Campbell

Notable games: Metal Gear Solid (various), Halo: Reach, Dark Void, No More Heroes, Dragon Age: Origins

Info: Paul is a seasoned voice actor that has worked on not only numerous and highly successful videogames, but many animated features too. In the gaming world, his most noteable role is arguably Colonel Roy Campbell in the long running Metal Gear Solid franchise.

Name: John Cygan

Info: John’s portrayal as Solidus Snake is still, amongst many gamers, would of the most impressive aspect of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty. That aside, John is also well known for voicing the hardened soldier; Canderous Ordo. With such a deep history is both TV and games, John is a veteran of many talents.

Name: Armin Shimerman

Notable games: Bioshock, Mass Effect, Ratchet & Clank, StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty

Info: Armin has a huge history entrenched deep within TV. Known by TV fans for his work in Star Trek: Deep Space 9, gamers would know him by the name of Andrew Ryan in Bioshock, Dr. Nefarious in Ratchet & Clank and the Salarian Councillor in Mass Effect 2 but to name a few.

Name: Jean Mazzei

Noteable characters: Viola

Notable games: Zone of the Enders, Shadow of Memories

Info: Jean will go down in the minds of gamers for her work asViola in Konami’s over-looked Zone of the Enders franchise; but Jean is simply so much more. Writing music since a young age, Jean has a strong interest in music, Jazz and gigging with Flying Venus.

Name: Courtenay Taylor

Notable characters: Jack (Subject Zero), Janet, Serina A.I.

Info: Courtenay has voiced so memorable and rather emotional characters; none more so than Subject Zero from Mass Effect 2. The corrupted and betrayed, Jack has more than enough fight in here to last the fight. Courtenay’s back catalog of games is as numerous as it is varied. Not familiar with her name? Think again…

Info: Troy has become very popular voice actor to date. It’s not that he’s finding more work, he’s already a very busy man, but the popularity is more to do with his part in revamp of the Silent Hill Collection. Being recast as the iconic James Sunderland, Troy sat down with TGL for an exclusive interview.

Name: Ali Hillis

Notable characters: Liara T’Soni, Lightning, Mary Godwin

Notable games: Mass Effect, Xenosaga Episode II, Final fantasy XIII

Info: Ali has a huge array of characters to her name; no two more important and recognisable, than Liara from Mass Effect and Lightning from Final Fantasy. Liara harbours an innocence, but ability to persist and survive while Lightning is a strong willed soldier of sorts. Both will go down in gaming history.

Name: Patric Zimmerman

Notable games: Dead Rising, Metal Gear Solid

Info: Patric is a voice actor that has a wealth of experience in TV, but thanks to his work in Metal Gear Solid, has become a household name. Playing Revolver Ocelot, Metal Gear Solid fans were drawn to his voice actor work from day 1.

Name: Josh Keaton

Notable characters: Spider-Man, Major Ocelot

Notable games: Spider-Man (franchise), God of War III, No More Heroes: Desperate Struggle, Psychonauts, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater

Info: With a solid background in music and TV, Josh is now Spider-Man…well as us gamers know it. A huge fan of the comic, Spider-Man seems to be a dream come true for Josh. Comics aside, Josh will also be known for his work as young Ocelot in Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater.

Name: Eric Ladin

Notable characters: Cole McGrath, Ellis

Notable games: Infamous 2, Left 4 Dead 2,

Info: Is it difficult to step into shoes of an already established character? Eric Ladin became centre of the world when Infamous 2 launched and he became the new Cole. Eric, with a repertoire of experience in TV, found himself also part of iconic titles like L.A. Noire and Left 4 Dead 2.

Name: Rick Pasqualone

Notable characters: Vito  Scaletta

Notable games: Mafia II, C&C: Kane’s Wrath, Fallout: New Vegas, Resistance 2

Info: Rick, thanks to his work in Mafia II is now one of the most memorable voice actors in the industry. Playing Vito Scaletta, Rick worked hard to convey a power struggle within a character; a struggle between what’s right and wrong. Rick has also worked on Infamous 2, Fallout: New Vegas and more.

Name: Craig Sechler

Notable characters: Adoring Fan, Annoying man, Butch Deloria

Notable games: Oblivion

Info: Craig has had a bounty of work in narrative pieces, but really melted, or froze (depending on how you look at it) the hearts of gamers when he appeared in the Oblivion. Playing the Adoring fan as well as more noble characters like High Chancellor Ocato, Sechler then moved onto Fallout 3 where he can be found in the skin of the “Tunnel Snake”.

Name: Michael McGaharn

Notable characters: Jansen Friedh

Notable games: Lost Odyssey

Info: Playing the funny guy can sometimes be a lot harder than expected, but Michael’s work on Lost Odyssey still remains one of our main reasons for contacting him. Playing Jansen Friedh, McGaharn played an easy going, free-spirit with more than enough time for the girls. A noteable role, Jansen quickly became one of our favourite characters.

Name: Gideon Emery

Notable characters: Balthier

Notable games: Final fantasy XII, Dragon Age II, F.E.A.R 3, God of War III, Mass Effect

Info: Gideon is without a doubt a fan favourite when it comes to video games. His work covers titles like Halo Wars, Mass Effect, F.E.A.R. 3, Kane & Lynch, Final Fantasy XII and Dragon Age but to name a few. With fans of Final Fantasy XII laying claim to him, Gideon admits he was new to the world when voicing Balthier, but his roots do rest within the foundations of some of the earliest games to date.

Name: Elias Toufexis

Notable characters: Adam Jensen, Frederico, Andriy Kobin

Notable games: Splinter Cell: Conviction, Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, Deus Ex: Human Revolution

Info: Elias established himself through his work in TV and then started to slowly lend his talents to video games. Elias appeared on the radar of gamers thanks to various different and interesting characters, but none more so than Adam Jensen. Playing the leading man in Deus Ex: Human Revolution means Elias is hot property amongst developers and gamers alike.

Name: Ellen McLain

Notable characters: GlaDOS

Notable games: Portal (franchise)

Info: Ellen became a global hit with when she appeared as GlaDOS in Valve’s Portal game. The psychotic, yet infinitely humourous AI, Ellen gave soul to what would become an internet sensation. “Still Alive” remains a fan favourite and will go down in the computer game history books.

Name: Wes Johnson

Notable characters: Lucien Lachance, Imperial Guard, Fawkes, Mr. Burke, Madgod

Notable games: Morrowind, Oblivion

Info: Wes has solid roots in comedy as well as a credible acting career. What will gamers remember him for though? Various projects it seems but arguably none more than his work in the Elder Scrolls franchise, and in particular, in Oblivion. Giving life to characters like the Imperial Guards and Lucien Lachance gave Wes the opportunity to voice either end of the morality spectrum; with tremendous results.

Name: Kyle Hebert

Notable characters: Ryu, John Sykes, Big Bull Crocker

Notable games: Street Fighter (franchise)

Info: Kyle has a stunning portfolio when it comes to TV work and anime, but gamers will know him as the iconic Ryu in Stree Fighter. An established gamer and a self-proclaimed “tech geek” Kyle is one of the most beloved voice actors in the industry.

Name: Jeff baker

Notable characters: Jiub, Dagoth Ur, Haskill

Notable games: Morrowind, Oblivion

Info: Jeff is a voice actor that will never be forgotton by fans of the Elder Scrolls franchise. Adding depth and life to the iconic Dagoth Ur, Jeff also played the much beloved, and subetly sinister, Haskill in the expansion to Oblivion; The Shivering Isles. Baker is also responsible for Jiub, or “Saint Jiub” as he’s referred to in Elder Scrolls folklore.

Name: Steve Blum

Notable characters: Grunt, Garcia Hotspur, Starscream, Grayson Hunt

Notable games: Mass Effect, Shadows of the Damned, Bulletstorm, Call of Duty: Black Ops

Info: Steve Blum has an amazing background voicing various anime characters. Loved by the anime world, Steve broke into games and became a household name. With games like Mass Effect, Bulletstorm, Shadows of the Damned and more under your belt; the future is bright for Steve.

Name: Paula Tiso

Notable characters: Lulu, Laughing Octopus, Jihl Nabaat

Notable games: Final Fantasy X, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots

Info: Paula gained much respect from gamers when she played the ever watchful Lulu. A motherly figure of sorts, Lulu became an instant hit thanks to her sultry looks and ability to defend herself. Voicing the dark and dangerous laughing octopus from Metal Gear Solid 4 was no easy feat but reaffirmed Paula, in the minds of gamers, as a formidable force.

Name: Ash Sroka

Notable characters: Tali’Zorah

Notable games: Mass Effect 2

Info: Ash has a wealth of experience in TV but really appeared on the radar of games once she voiced, the always loved, Tali’Zorah in Mass Effect 2. Building on from the success of the game, and he character, fans of the franchise can expect to see the return of Tali when Mass Effect 3 drops in 2012.

Name: Alesia Glidewell

Notable characters: Chell

Notable games: Portal (franchise)

Info: A film-maker by heart, Alesia has contributed to a strong number of beloved characters including Neyla and Krystal. This was of course before she became the face of Chell from Portal. Becoming Chell meant that Alesia was propelled into the main stream like never before.

Name: Matt Mckenzie

Notable characters: Auron

Notable games: Final Fantasy X

Info: Matt has an astonishing background in TV; with shows like 24, Murphy Brown, Ally McBeal and more under his belt. Playing the mysterious Auron in Final Fantasy X cemented his work, in the minds of Final fantasy fans, as some of the best voice work seen in the franchise to date.

Name: John Patrick Lowrie

Notable characters: The Sniper, Warden Harms, Citizens of City 17

Notable games: Half-Life 2, Team Fortress 2, Infamous

Info: A trained theatrical actor, John patrick Lowrie is now a huge hit with gamers. Appearing as civilians in Valve’s masterpience Half-Life 2, John shot to stardom when he voiced the iconic Sniper character in the reboot of Team Fortress; Team Fortress 2.

Name: Michael Gough

Info: Michael Gough has a background in video games that not many voice actors do. With such an extensive background voicing numerous characters, across numerous franchises, gamers really noticed Michael thanks to his word in the Call of Duty franchise. Becoming the voice for the Carmine brothers in the multi-million selling Gears of War franchise helped to propel him into main stream gamers’ minds.

Name: Reuben Langdon

Notable characters: Dante

Notable games: Devil May Cry (franchise)

Info: Through his work in TV and film, Reuben has built up an incredible array of profile performances which include doing the mo-cap for leading role “Jake Sully” in Avatar. To gamers though, none more impressive than his work with Dante from the popular Devil May Cry franchise.

Name: David Hayter

Info: David has established himself as a bankable and credible writer, but what do gamers known him best for? Playing Solid Snake, in the Metal Gear Solid franchise, David is one of the most respected, sought-after and well-known voices around. Going down in the history books, David’s portayal of Snake remains some of the finest voice actor work to date.
